フィンランドの建築家エリック・ブリッグマン（1891-1955）の生涯をまとめた書籍。1920年代から北欧古典主義の建物を多く設計し、アアルトらとともにフィンランドに機能主義の建築を試みた。特に1941年に完成させたトゥルクの礼拝堂は北欧モダニズムを代表する傑作として名高い。戦後復興の時代にも学校、病院、住宅など多を手がけたが、これからという64歳の時にその生涯を終えた。本書ではブリッグマン・アーカイヴ所蔵の図面と写真を豊富に収録し、個々の建物の解説とその活動をクロノジカルに詳述した研究書。
