イタリアの建築家フランチェスコ・ヴェネツィア（1944–）の1973年から1987年までの主要作品と計画案を収録したモノグラフ。序文はポルトガルの建築家アルヴァロ・シザが執筆し、ヴェネツィアの建築に通底する土地の記憶や歴史との対話、建築の根源的な意味への探求を詩的かつ深い洞察によって論じている。シチリア地震後の復興計画で知られるジベッリーナ博物館をはじめ、都市計画、広場、公園、住宅、公共施設などを収録。古代都市や地中海文化への関心を背景に、歴史的文脈と現代建築を結び付けるヴェネツィアの活動とその展開を知ることができる。
